Properties within 3 blocks of New York's Central Park received a premium of approximately 18% per lot square foot compared to similar properties within a larger area surrounding the park, according to a 2009 study. This $17.7 billion "Central Park premium" represented 8.1% of the total value of all of Manhattan's real estate.
