GSI Impact Calculator

One Water Econ

This web-based application allows users to quantify and monetize the benefits associated with green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) projects in urban and suburban areas at a block-level scale. Inputs include project location, size, and design including stormwater management goals, among other customizable inputs. The calculator conducts a cost-benefit analysis with an output that estimates direct and indirect benefits of GSI across 44 benefit categories, including financial feasibility. Other major benefit categories include avoided infrastructure costs, energy savings, ecosystem, water quality, heat stress, recreation, green jobs, property values, and more. The output also includes customizable visualizations representing the co-benefits and impacts of GSI projects for communication purposes. Additional resources provided include a User Guide, Methods and Data Sources document, and Case Studies.

The LPS Benefits Toolkit is a compilation of online calculators and tools that can be used to estimate landscape performance. The Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) compiles and writes descriptions of the tools in the Benefits Toolkit. LAF has no involvement in the development, review, or maintenance of the tools. If you have questions or comments on the Toolkit itself, contact us at email hidden; JavaScript is required.
