Carbon Conscience

Sasaki

This web-based application estimates the potential for carbon emissions, carbon storage, and carbon sequestration for design alternatives based on land use and at various scales. It can be used in the early stages of a project at various scales to compare design options, test alternate land uses, structural systems, and landscape and façade materials. Users input information about the potential design including land use and materials and the app estimates embodied carbon, carbon sequestered, and carbon stored. This tool is recommended for use at a campus or neighborhood masterplan scale, but it has enough specificity for site-scale concept design.

The LPS Fast Fact Library is a collection of short summaries of landscape benefits derived from published research. The Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) compiles and writes the Fast Facts. LAF has no involvement in the data collection, analysis, review, publication, or funding of the research. If you have questions or comments on the Fast Fact Library itself, contact us at email hidden; JavaScript is required.
